Old Man Winter is HERE!

It is bitterly cold here in Tennessee, highs in the 20's with lows in the single digits and no warm up for the next week. Now don't get me wrong, we are used to cold winters, but, I must say, it usually doesn't stay this cold for this long at a time. I am having to break ice in the watering troughs twice a day now,  the water faucet has frozen, and we have to keep a heat lamp on it so we can run water every couple days! We have even decided to blanket the horses, and we haven't had to do that in a few years, so it is COLD here! And, we are supposed to get 3~4 inches of snow Thursday.......Well, at least we are over being sick, so things could be worse. I am thinking nice sunny days, and green grass, so I decided to post a few "warm" pictures of the horses.......

  1. Ha ha lucky you, we're having 38 & 40's here in West Oz (that's over a 100 in F) - I hate our Summers and would love something cooler.

Enjoy! (or at least not freeze to death)

    LOL ; )

  2. We're supposed to get down in the teens here in Texas..that's too cold for my bones. Call me a sissy or whatever..I don't care. I don't like the cold unless I can stay in by a warm fire and hibernate. Maybe if we all have the same thoughts of green grass and sunny days it'll happen. Hang in there, we do have the hope of spring..and I can't wait!

  3. I know, I can't wait either.... I am already dreaming of spring, and usually cold weather doesn't bother me.....but when it is this cold and I have to worry and keep such a close eye on the horses, it can become a nuisance. Come on spring!!!!!!!!
